Aarjay International successfully designed and deployed a custom Automated Test Equipment (ATE) solution for a leading defence-sector manufacturing unit.

The challenge: the client was relying on manual testing methods as part of their in-bound QC for evaluating a wide range of components— including transformers, relays, and contactors used in their power distribution systems — resulting in inconsistencies, delays, and limited traceability.

Our team delivered a fully integrated TRC ATE system, combining hardware and software to automate acceptance testing for 12 component types. The system was engineered to streamline test cycles, reduce human error, and ensure detailed, tamper-proof data logging.

Key Technical Highlights

  • Comprehensive Automation
    Replaced multiple manual test stations with a single unified automated test platform supporting coil resistance, pickup/dropout voltage, insulation resistance, and load tests, among others.
  • Multi-Instrument Integration: Seamlessly integrated commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) instruments such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), and AC power supplies — all centrally managed through Aarjay’s custom-developed automation software.
  • Custom Test Fixture Design
    Developed modular, custom test fixtures with precision adaptors to accommodate multiple component sizes and pin layouts — ensuring repeatable, accurate connections.

GUI-Based Test Software
Aarjay’s in-house software enables intuitive test creation, execution, and reporting. Features include role-based login, test sequencing, real-time result visualization, and PDF report generation.

  • Built-In Self-Diagnostics
    The system runs periodic hardware health checks and instrument connectivity verification, reducing troubleshooting time and enhancing uptime.
  • Data Management & Traceability
    All test data is tagged to component serial numbers and archived for traceability, compliance, and trend analysis.
